Bi-Lock keys
We can copy older style bilock keys. The newer generation bilock we are unable to copy as they contain moving parts (spring system). Cost for bilock key copy is $160-200.

Do I need a locksmith to copy a restricted key?
Absolutely not. Any key can be stamped with “Do Not Copy” or “Restricted Blank”. This is commonly done as a deterrent to stop you from copying the key elsewhere. Printing “Do Not Copy” onto a key does not automatically give it legal protection or make it illegal for you to make a copy.
The process of copying restricted keys normally requires permission through the building management, lengthy delays and locksmith call-out fees.
Restricted keys are most commonly restricted through commercial means- i.e. perfectly legal to copy, but good luck finding a locksmith who will be willing to supply the blank or make a copy. By regulating and controlling the supply of certain key blanks, it becomes next to impossible to make a duplicate of those special keys.
How do you make a copy?
Our process involves using 3D scanning and printing of your restricted key. After the key is scanned, it is send off for production which usually takes 3-4 hours. The final result is a highly accurate copy of your original key.

The process of making a copy if very simple. Just visit our store at 100 Russell street CBD with the key. We will check and confirm that we can make a duplicate and usually have it ready within 1-2 business day.
Why use us to make a key copy
We make it simple and quick! Most of our clients have the same issues:
- The Body Corporate or Building Management usually take 4-6 weeks to make a copy of your front door key. The process is extremely frustrating, required paperwork, signatures, ongoing delays, etc. Often you just want a spare key for a family member who is visiting next weekend, and 8 weeks of wait time is far too long.
- Body Corporate or Building Management refuse to give you an extra key! You complete their paperwork, pay the surcharges, but they still won't provide you with a spare key. Often they say that there is a limit depending on number of bedrooms, or number of tenants on the lease (2 bedrooms = 2 keys). These rules makes it extremely difficult to get a spare key for visiting friends or family, or having a spare key in general.

We often hear cases of keys being lost by renters/tenants and as a result the host cannot check in the next guest or has to physcially attend and hand over their set of keys. University students
Students often split the cost of rent by sharing their apartment with friends or other fellow students. Everyone is listed on the lease and yet the owners or building management are refusing to provide a set of keys to each occupant (see above). As a result everyone has to share keys, work around a schedule which becomes extremely inconvenient. For a regular front door key it's easy enough to visit a key cut kiosk and make a spare set, but for the new buildings being built in Melbourne CBD, all doors have a restricted key system installed by a locksmith, making is almost impossible to have a new key made up unless you pay the excessive fees and get permission which is almost always denied. It's almost always the same reason - 2 bedroom = 2 sets of keys and no more. The same issue arises when you sublet your apartment to friends or students - getting an extra key becomes impossible.
Outdated or Unavailable keys
Our service of key duplication isn't limited to residential front door keys. You might have a special key for an old lock, a vintage car, speed boat, which is no longer in production. If you're not yet ready to call a locksmith to replace the lock mechanism, we are happy to assist.

Are there any keys you cannot copy?
Unique design
At present there are some Restricted key types we cannot duplicate due to their unique design.
Registered design
Keys can also be protected through design registration - a form of IP protection. We are unable to copy keys which have a current Australian design registration.
